Abstract
The foot is a part of the lower extremity that has several characteristics, namely foot length, width, height, and arch. Foot arch is a characteristic that has not been widely researched in Indonesia, but it plays a crucial role in movement and daily life. A normal foot arch facilitates physical activities, work, and overall human health, whereas an abnormal foot arch can hinder physical activities, work, and negatively affect health. Foot-arch diagnosis is commonly performed using footprint creation and foot-arch determination. Foot arch diagnosis can be established through conventional examinations, which are relatively more time-consuming, and examinations using scanning devices, which tend to be more expensive. The creation of a foot arch determination application can bypass the manual process of determining the type of foot arch that has been carried out so far and is an innovation in foot arch diagnosis. This study used 73 pairs of footprints from research participants, which became the baseline data for the development of the foot arch diagnosis application. The application was created using Visual Studio Code and validated using an independent sample t-test with p-values of 0.115 and 0.244 for the right and left footprints, respectively, indicating no significant difference between the manual and application diagnosis results. A validated foot-arch diagnosis application is ready for use. The foot-arch diagnosis application takes 1 s to perform diagnostics on 73 footprints, which is faster than the manual examination that takes 25 min for only one footprint.
