Announcement
Folia Medica Indonesiana (FMI) has been a driving force of medical research in Indonesia since its inception in 1964. Initially published as Berita Research Kedokteran Surabaja, the journal has undergone significant transformations over the years, reflecting the growth and development of Indonesian medical education.
As the official journal of the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Airlangga, FMI has played a vital role in disseminating medical research findings and promoting scientific collaboration. The journal's name changes, from Madjalah Kedokteran Surabaja to Majalah Kedokteran Surabaya, reflect its evolving focus and commitment to excellence.
Today, FMI is a fully online, English-language journal with a strong international presence. It holds the highest national accreditation (No. 295/C/C3/KPT/2026) and is indexed in reputable databases such as the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). FMI's successful migration from the OJS3 to the Digital Commons platform in October 2024 marks a new chapter in its ongoing journey to advance medical research and knowledge.

Dear Authors,
Starting in 2025, Folia Medica Indonesiana welcomes a new article type: the bibliometric analysis review, introduced in response to the growing interest among authors in publishing topic-specific studies using this method.
We also invite high-quality papers on health education in medicine and health sciences, with a special focus on — but not limited to — preventive and curative approaches to specific cases, as well as studies on health education aimed at developing human resources.
We warmly welcome your submissions and kindly remind you that a prompt response during the review and revision process will facilitate faster publication.
Sincerely,
Folia Medica Indonesiana.
